The jacket looks great, I love the style!
The fit was just as expected with pull straps in various places to properly position the armor. The armor at the shoulders and elbows are made of rubber, and the back armor is just your typical foam. The back armor isnt as wide as i would have hoped and the narrow style will make it hard if not impossible to find a higher quality slip in. I plan on taking the foam out and buying a quality strap-on spine protector.
The back of the jacket in the picture looks very puffy like a turtle shell. This is mostly because it comes with a rain coat stored in the back of the jacket. It also has a thick inner lining, which i also removed for summer riding, that added to the "puffy" appearance of the coat. Looks great now!
The overall construction of the jacket is very nice. It looks like it will last. The mesh material feels very durable, however it is not wound very tight. Meaning the jacket has great air circulation but...
I think, explains the few complaints regards Vega Merit Mesh Jacket (Black/Red, Large) not fitting or leaking.
