Okay, I'm an old guy and never had a full face helmet before. Always had the three quarter skid lids and actually just bought one with the drop down face shield before I got this helmet. I got this because the guys at the bike places recommended full face because the bikes go fast and the crashes are harder at higher speeds. I did not get the "flip" full face because I was told they are weaker in a wreck.
Anyway, I had tried on this lid that was one size larger at the local parts department and it was "loose." I measured my head to make sure of the size and used the HJC size chart to order the helmet. They were correct, it fits like your head is stuck in a vise for the first few rides. Then it starts to fit like a glove and feel like it's part of your head.
It does have less side and downward front view than the open helmets but your head doesn't get snapped to the side when you look, like with cheaper or open helmets. I found the shield was easy to open and...
I think, explains the few gripe regards HJC Helmets IS-16 Helmet (Anthracite, X-Small) not fitting or leaking.
